Dallis has been involved in Musical Theatre for over a decade, starting in college, where she achieved placement in 42nd Street, The Rocky Horror Picture show, and
Heather’s: The Musical. She also recently took part in the Toronto Fringe Festival for the show ‘One Small Step’, a performance written and directed by Barbara Johnston. She played the role of Lucy.
Dallis also has extensive experience in the pop and rock scene, an area that is more popular in today’s culture. Her teachings are centred on youth. Furthermore, she truly believes that anyone in her classroom who is willing to practice her teachings can attain the goals they set out for themselves, regardless of prior experience.
In class, Dallis focuses on a step-by-step goal system that ensures each and every student furthers themselves in their long-term goals as a performer. This does not stop short at the teacher level. Dallis continues to attend auditions and build her skill sets, and is happy to assist students in preparing their repertoire binder with cuts so that there are tangibility and application beyond the classroom. Each class she will go through specific vocal techniques including control, posture, singing to tone, and much more. Often times she may work on technique through singing a song and breaking it down into pre-mediated sections.
Regardless of if singing is a new venture or if the student is seeking to strengthen their current skillset, Dallis aims to create an environment that is welcoming and intuitive. At the same time, she acknowledges the perfect amount of push to ensure that her students reach their full potential.
