Voice & Piano Instructor
Scott Pietrangelo is an established performer and music director renowned for his positivity, enthusiastic leadership, critical ear and zest for all things musical.
Having sung in choirs his whole life, Scott studied singing since the age of five and had the experience of working across Canada in the theatre and music industry with so many excellent musicians and performers, it’s no wonder he’s ended up with a passion for music. Nothing makes him happier than getting people singing!
As a music director, Scott spent six years at the helm of newchoir, Toronto’s first rock choir, honing his leadership skills and furthering his musical abilities as an arranger. In 2016 he launched his own large-scale a cappella choir, SoundCrowd, who have made appearances at the Danforth Music Hall with Steven Page, the Princess of Wales Theatre with Mirvish Productions, and Carnegie Hall in New York City under the director of Deke Sharon (Pitch Perfect, The Sing Off). He has also been co-director of the Eastminster United Church Choir on the Danforth since 2014, and spends much of his time music directing at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope (Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, various Pantos).
As a teacher, Scott brings his own RCM training mixed with over two decades of professional performance experience. He approaches everyone’s voice as a unique instrument and tailors the learning experience to each individual based on their vocal needs. Whether coaching a seasoned professional for an audition or introducing a beginner to the primary concepts of singing, piano playing or music theory, Scott is able to communicate clearly and effectively exactly what is needed in order for each student to achieve their goals.
