Arushi Das Voice & Piano Teacher

About Me

Arushi is a Toronto-based soprano specializing in classical voice and piano, but eager to help her students explore all kinds of repertoire. She seeks to help her students find their unique voice and style, helping them improve from a technical standpoint so that they can become performers who can express themselves without being restricted by the limits of technique.

Arushi believes that everyone has a unique story to tell, and she wants to help them tell it through music! She believes that everyone is musically inclined in some way, and with practice and the right guidance, there are no limits to what one can achieve!

Currently, Arushi is completing her Bachelor of Music degree in classical Voice Performance at the University of Toronto. A student of renowned soprano Frédérique Vézina, Arushi is the recipient of the Robert William Bygrave full tuition scholarship, an entrance scholarship awarded to the top Voice Performance applicant at the university. She frequently performs as a soloist, as well as with celebrated choirs such as the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. As a pianist, she has placed in the Kiwanis Competition of Toronto, and plays repertoire at the ARCT Royal Conservatory Level. She is an aspiring opera singer.

Though Arushi specializes in classical voice and piano, she is open to teaching various genres such as musical theater and pop music. She teaches according to each student’s goals and interests, whether that be completing Royal Conservatory of Music exams, or playing for fun!

She loves working with children, and is open to teaching teenagers and adults. She can teach beginner students, but is also comfortable teaching more advanced students, and teaches Royal Conservatory of Music materials for both voice and piano from the beginner to advanced levels. Arushi teaches with structured lessons and practice journals, or more free flowing sessions, depending on the student. Students and parents alike find her weekly summary of practice goals and in-class achievements very helpful in tracking progress and areas for improvement. Her students love her positive, calm, clear, and focused approach to teaching music.
