Violinist Miranda Violinist Miranda Hollingsworth is a recent graduate of the Glenn Gould School of
the Royal Conservatory. At the Glenn Gould School, she earned an Artist
Diploma under the guidance of violinists Min Jeong-Koh and Erika Raum and
was the recipient of the Ihnatowycz Emerging Artist Scholarship. Ms.
Hollingsworth graduated cum laude from the University of Houston in 2022 where
her mentors included Dr. Kirsten Yon, Timothy Hester and Dr. Rob Smith. She
has performed solo and chamber music recitals in the United States, Canada,
Europe and Asia.
As a passionate educator, Ms. Hollingsworth strives to help students achieve
their goals through tailored teaching methods. Ms. Hollingsworth believes all
students can thrive in a classical violin setting with the right approach and
guidance. Understanding and implementing methods to help students grow as
musicians is one of Ms. Hollingsworth’s favorite aspects of teaching, there is
always something to learn, even as a teacher! Lessons with her are structured in
a way that allows the student to achieve goals in theory, technicality and
musicality. She believes all students have the ability to tell unique stories through
music and encourages students to perform whenever they can. She recently
earned her RCM Prep-Level 8 certification and completed two years of
pedagogical training at the Royal Conservatory of Music under the guidance of
Min-Jeong Koh and Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom.
Ms. Hollingsworth is a former member of the Reverie String Quartet, formed at
the Glenn Gould School, and recently gave the premier of Ernest Kanitz’s String
Quartet in D for the ARC Ensemble in Toronto. The premiere was described as
“particularly compelling and joyous, the best of the concert” (Ludwig Van
Toronto). The Reverie Quartet was also selected to record as a part of the Fifty
for the Future project with the Kronos Quartet. As a member of the Mirabel
Quartet, she made the Chinese premier of Walter Kaufmann’s 7th String Quartet
in Tianjin and Beijing through the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestral Leadership
Symposium. As a soloist, Ms. Hollingsworth has won the Grand Prize in the
Strings Division and the Audience Choice Award at the 2021 Moores School of
Music Concerto Competition, performed with the Houston Civic Symphony, and
was named a 2017 Houston Young Artist. In the Summer of 2022, Ms.
Hollingsworth was invited to be a Fellowship Artist as well as a Company
Member at Music By the Sea Canada. Ms. Hollingsworth recently collaborated
with clarinetist David Krakaur and cellist Aron Zelkowicz on a sold out
performance for the Ashkenaz Festival in Toronto. Miranda recently organized
and presented the first Toronto Music for Food concert in May
